Tips for Travel to Calgary, Alberta, Canada
If you
find yourself overniting in Calgary, perhaps
on your way to the Canadian Rockies, Lake
Louise, Banff or Jasper, the
Westin
Hotel
downtown is just fine. Three blocks out the
back door there are miles of
jogging/walking/bike paths which run forever
along the river and believe me you will not
be alone. The whole town seems to be outside
exercising.
For
dinner, an unusual recommendation. At the
downtown Hyatt Hotel,
in the midst of land locked Calgary, get the
best seafood
you will ever have at "Catch.”
The restaurant is on the second floor. Voted
one of Canada's ten best restaurants,
I had the best salmon I have ever tasted,
along with asiago and walnut risotto.
Surprisingly, on a Tuesday nite, the place
was not half-full. Formerly a beer and steak
joint, one of my companions did try the
steak and pronounced it excellent. Enjoy!
